Insitu palisade walling launched by moladi

Insitu Palisade Walling launched by moladi Insitu palisade walling moladi Palisade Walling System moladi launches new palisade security walling system The moladi walling system is simply cast with steel reinforcing placed at predetermined positions and intervals between the patented plastic formwork, on site (in-situ). This process is the same way bridges and high rise buildings are constructed This superior insitu process forms a homogenous monolithic wall with the option of altering the compressive strength of the mortar (concrete without stone) for different soil conditions and levels of application. The wall strength can be varied by adding more or less cement, varying the compressive strength from 10 MPa to 30 MPa. Test have proven that a moladi insitu wall is far superior to precast wall panels. Precast panels can be snapped, cracked or broken by simply kicking the member. Because existing palisade fencing is erected/assembled on site, the wall is actually m

Substandard Housing Takes Toll on Children of Low-Income Families | Medindia

Substandard Housing Takes Toll on Children of Low-Income Families Low-income housing - Toll on children Researchers at Boston College and Tufts University shows that the distinct emotional and educational price children pay when their families live in run down apartments and homes. Data culled from a six-year study of 2,400 children, teens and young adults found emotional and behavioural symptoms such as anxiety, depression, lying and aggressive behaviour are closely connected to poor housing quality and the related stress placed on parents, children and families, according to the report, which was published in the journal Developmental Psychology . Children growing up in poor quality housing plagued by leaky roofs, broken windows, peeling paint, debris and vermin experience greater emotional and behavioural problems at young ages and later see their school performance suffer, researchers report in one of the most comprehensive assessments ever condu

Lean construction system

Image
Lean Construction Lean construction system One of the important principles under a lean production paradigm is termed ?lean assembly?. This refers to simplifying the process of assembly through industrialisation, modularisations, standardisation, and continuous flow processes.  The reduction of operations required for a production process means less chance of the occurrence of errors, waste and rework. This follows from the same logic that the fewer the number of operations, the higher the quality of the product and a predictive timeline, resulting in cost savings. Beyond the Brick - Revolutionizing the way we build

Image
Beyond the Brick - Revolutionizing the way we build Beyond the Brick   In what ways is this project unique and creative? The Moladi system consists of a reusable and recyclable plastic formwork or mould, which is filled with mortar (stone-less concrete) and a special additive. This additive ensures that the walls are water proof and has excellent thermal properties. Once the mortar is set, the formwork can be removed and reused up to 50 times. According to the founder Hennie Botes, the brick-less walls can withstand all types of weather. The formwork is lightweight allowing easy transportation. Due to the simplicity in design and the repetitive application scheme, construction costs can be reduced significantly. The Moladi model is not only cost-effective but fast, too. The wall structure of a house can be completed within one day. A further plus point, especially in remote areas, is that the construction does not require heavy machinery or electricity. Lafarge cooperation partnership with moladi We are honoured to have been recognized as a global leader in the development of innovative construction technology by the world’s number one cement producer , Lafarge. During a recent visit by the Lafarge team to Port Elizabeth, it was confirmed that moladi has been selected to partner with Lafarge in order to address the production and delivery of affordable housing globally. An invitation was extended to Hennie Botes, CEO of moladi, to formalize the MOU at the Lafarge headquarters in Paris.   The initial scope of the partnership is to focus on introducing a combined housing project, starting with Mauritius, Iraq, Brazil and the African continent. Other areas of technical cooperation include the development of fibre reinforcing to further reduce cost of construction. This prestigious partnership brings us another step closer to becoming the world’s “One Stop Housing Shop” An opportunity for moladi to export to many more countries

Top 20 global cement companies - Lafarge #1

Top 20 global cement companies - Lafarge #1 To coincide with the release of the Global Cement Directory 2013, Global Cement Magazine has taken a closer look at cement companies around the world, comparing capacities to analyse the development of the global cement market. Through this analysis we have determined the Top 20 global cement companies - and those close behind. We comment on their place in the cement industry in different world regions. The global cement industry is a good indicator of the growth and progress of a country as cement consumption is closely linked to per-capita income. It implicates future changes in the development of a region or country and depends on several factors like demand, raw material reserves, market access and economic conditions. The cement industry has changed significantly in recent years through trans-national consolidations and co-operations. Much of the potential is in emerging markets, especially China and India. Emerging markets repres
