moladi Construction Technology

moladi plastic shuttering was developed as a means of alleviating many of the costly aspects associated with conventional construction methods without compromising on quality or integrity of the structure.

moladi plastic shutter building method was mentioned in a World Economic Forum (WEF) online article. Innovation in Construction - Link

The moladi construction method replaces the cumbersome bricklaying process with an approach akin to injection molding. Workers erect the building’s formwork with reusable plastic panels, leaving wall cavities which once the windows, doors, wiring and pipework have been put in place are filled with fast-setting, aerated mortar.

All
moladi structures have steel reinforced internal and external walls. The reinforcing design is specified by an independent, certified Engineer; according to the requirements of the structure, which is dependent on soil conditions such as clay, expanding soils, collapsing soils, dolomite etc. The Engineer would also take into account if the structure would be subjected to earth tremors, quakes or hurricanes. As moladi structures are uniformly and monolithically cast, with the reinforcing placed in strategic positions, this makes the building more resistant to seismic movement.

Building Method

The construction method of moladi homes is not only fast and cost-effective, but proves to be strong and durable.  The first moladi home was constructed in 1987 in South Africa and many thousands more in 22 countries worldwide. The moladi shutter technology and construction model has also been implemented to build student accommodation, schools, court houses, ablutions and hospitals worldwide.
